Instructions of the Dean of HAMU on faculty operations from 7.6.2021

Dear students and esteemed colleagues,

Based on current epidemic situation in the Czech Republic, in connection with the extraordinary measures stated by the Ministry of Health and in connection with the Rector’s measure regarding the operation and functioning of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague effective from 1 June 2021 effective starting Monday 7 June 2021 the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague will be operating under following instructions:

All students of BA, MA and PhD programmes are allowed to attend:

a) Contact instruction of arts (hands-on teaching) and practical instruction

b) Pricticing (rehearsals) in the format of at most 12 persons in one classroom. This measure is valid for all specializations.

c) Preparation for instruction of arts: Students can only use the classrooms or practice rooms of their department. Students will not be allowed to borrow classroms / practice rooms without reservation through the reservation systhem.

Mandatory testing: Students of all years of BA, MA and PhD programmes are obliged to get tested once every 7 days (antigen testing for SARS-CoV-2), testing for these students will be provided by the faculty. For testing reservation students are obliged to use the reservation systhem of AMU HERE. Testing will take place every Monday and Thursday in HAMU Atelier, the capacity of the testing site has been increased for this purpose. Negative result of this antigen test will be valid for 7 days.

If a student tests at a different test point than the official test point of AMU, they shall produce a certificate of a negative test result not older than 72 hours.

The exemption from the testing duty for everyone entering the AMU campus: applies to those who have suffered from covid-19 during the last 180 days (beginning with the first positive test result; this is to be demonstrated by a solemn declaration – the template is available for download HERE) as well as to those who have been vaccinated (on expiry of 22 days from being administered the last required dose – to be demonstrated by a vaccination certificate).

Teaching of all theoretical subjects: It is possible to use the present format. The pedagogues can consider which format (present or online) they prefer to use.

During their entire stay in the faculty buildings, the teachers and students are obliged to maintain all hygienic directives, in particular based on the Rector’s notice effective from 25 February 2021 covering their mouth and nose WITH A RESPIRATOR (this does not apply to wind and brass instrument musicians and singers when performing), regular airing of the classrooms and practice rooms, social distancing of at least 2 metres and regular hand sanitizing.

Other technical, organisational and administrative guidelines:

On Saturdays and Sundays, the faculty will be accessible from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. only through the Liechtenstein Palace entrance and reception.

From Monday to Friday, the faculty will be accessible only through the Liechtenstein Palace entrance and reception from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. until further notice.

The Hartig entrance and reception will be closed until mandatory testing and access control at the Liechtenstein Palace is completed.

Concerts and other performances – will take place with the participation of the audience, so that the auditorium capacity of the Martinů Hall is restricted to a maximum of 120 spectators and the Gallery to a maximum of 50 spectators.

Each visitor must prove that he/she meets the following requirements:

(a) the person has undergone RT-PCR testing for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 virus with a negative result no more than 7 days ago; or

(b) the person has had a POC test for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 antigen no more than 72 hours ago with a negative result; or

(c) a person who has had COVID-19 disease within the last 180 days (counted from the first positive test, evidenced by an affidavit, download sample HERE); or

d) / a person has been vaccinated (22 days from the first dose, evidenced by vaccination information from the first dose obtained from the vaccination site).

It is obligatory to observe all public health regulations throughout the concert, especially covering the respiratory tract with a respirator.

The operation of all administrative and technical departments shall return to standard mode. In view of the partial restrictions still in place and the gradually decreasing risk of infection, staff may work from home one day per week subject to the approval of their supervisor. If there are more than two people in the office, a request can be made to the Faculty Secretary for a rota of A and B teams.

The Study Department will be open during the specified office hours, viz. Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The above operating arrangements are in force until further notice, and any changes will be announced as the situation develops.
