Decision of the Dean of HAMU – mandatory for students

Dear students,

According to Government Resolution No. 249 of 5 March 2021, all employees and instructors at public institutions of higher education entering the faculty building must present an antigen or PCR test for COVID-19 that is no older than seven days. This requirement comes into effect starting Wednesday 17 March 2021.

On the basis of a recommendation from the AMU Rectorate, I have decided to institute a requirement for students to present the porters at Liechtenstein Palace with a confirmation of an antigen test at an official testing site in the Czech Republic before entering the AMU Campus at Malostranské náměstí, effective starting 17 March 2021. This test must be negative and may be no older than seven days. A confirmation in paper form is preferred. Antigen tests can be undertaken free of charge at designated testing sites around the Czech Republic and a hard copy of confirmation can be obtained by request.

The following students will be exempted from this requirement:

a) those who produce a negative PCR test for COVID-19 no older than seven days and who do not exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19

b) those who produce a document showing that they have undergone lab-confirmed COVID-19, with the isolation period as per the valid Ministry of Health emergency measures having passed, and who do not exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19, with no more than 90 days having passed since the first positive test for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus (SOLEMN DECLARATION COVID-19)

c) those who produce a certificate issued by the Czech Ministry of Health on having been vaccinated against COVID-19, with at least 14 days having passed since application of the second dose of vaccine in the case of a two-dose schedule, or with at least 14 days having passed since application of the first dose of vaccine in the case of a single-dose schedule, and the vaccinated person does not exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19

I know that in recent days there has been a shortage of free slots for antigen testing, particularly in Prague, and that is why I am issuing this decision sufficiently in advance, so that you have time to reserve a suitable time for testing.

I trust that you understand the situation we are in. It is a matter of your health and that of your teachers and other employees of our faculty. As soon as the situation has improved enough for this measure to no longer be necessary, I shall repeal it immediately.

Wishing you good health,
Prof. Ivan Klánský, Dean of HAMU
